What ru-view.com is
This site exists to make one idea easy to understand and try: ordinary WiFi signals already carry enough information to detect that someone is in a room, moving, or breathing — no lens required. We built a plain-language explainer, a glossary, and an embedded browser demo so you can see that in action before touching any hardware.
Relationship to the RuView project
The live demo embedded on this site is served directly from the open-source RuView project's own GitHub Pages deployment. ru-view.com is an independent demo and documentation front-end for that project — it doesn't modify, host, or re-license the underlying code. All credit for the sensing research and firmware belongs to the RuView project and its contributors on GitHub.
Why WiFi sensing, and why openly
Camera-based sensing raises obvious privacy concerns in bedrooms, bathrooms, and care settings. WiFi CSI sensing was interesting to us precisely because it doesn't produce an image at any stage of the pipeline — and because the reference hardware costs a few dollars, it's realistic for hobbyists and researchers to reproduce and audit, not just take on faith.
What this site is not
- Not a certified medical device or diagnostic tool.
- Not a commercial product with paid plans, accounts, or support contracts.
- Not the official homepage of the RuView GitHub organization — see the source repository ↗ for the canonical project.
